Mikumi National Park

Situated in the Mkata plains, dominated by hills and mountains, Mikumi is a small jewel. The park is divided into three zones which allow you to see all of the wildlife species and certain rare species such as the wild dog.

Best time: Whole year but between March and May you must use a 4 wheel drive

How to get there: from Da es Salaam, 4 hour drive or 1h charter flight.

To do a day trip to Udzungwa Mountains National park.

Spectacular mountain views and waterfalls with its particular flora and fauna

Do not miss: an early morning departure to be in the park at the first light of day. And, on the road, between Dar es Salaam and Mikumi, the handicraft shops: basketware, jewellery and games.
