Mount Kilimanjaro Routes

Rongai  Route

This route is seldom used due to the fact that the trailhead is very remote and difficult to reach. It begins north of Kilimanjaro in a heavily wooded area near the Kenyan border. This route normally takes 6 days and is relatively easy compared to some of the others, but of course none of the Kilimanjaro routes is truly easy.

Itinerary

Day1: Drive to Rongai gate whereby will commence the trek for about 4hrs for dinner and overnight.
Day2: Have b/fast then continue to cave2 for about 3hrs followed by dinner and overnight.
Day3: After b/fast will hike to Kibo hut for about 5hrs for dinner and overnight.
Day4: You wake up at 12:30am and have hot tea plus candies then make it to the top for about 5hrs via Gilmans point for earlier sun rise. After arriving Uhuru peak will have great photos followed by a descent to Horombo hut for dinner and overnight.
Day5: Early b/fast then continue down to Marangu gate whereby will meet our driver ready to transfer to either Moshi/Arusha.
Option: Instead of 5 days you can make it 6 days whereby the third day will hike to cave three instead of Kibo hut.
